History of Father’s Day:

Unlike Mother’s Day, the idea of Father’s day was not welcomed gracefully. People did not understand the need to celebrate a day to embrace men. It was partially because of the conservative thought process. Men were considered as the rock and bread earner of the family. He could be confined to a day where children express emotions of love and fatherhood because that would be against the mindset that was prevalent in the 1900s.

A girl named Sonora Smart Dodd in the honour of her father who was a single parent proposed the idea to celebrate Fathers day. After fighting and campaigning, the government passed an order declaring Father’s day as a national holiday in the US. gradually, it started fanning out among other countries as well. Though Father’s day is not necessarily a public holiday in other countries, people celebrate it with joy and compassion.

Happy Father’s Day
